OUR LECTURER ASSOC. PROF. DR. FATMA SİBEL BAYRAKTAR TOOK PART IN THE TÜBİTAK PROJECT

In the project supported within the framework of the bilateral cooperation program between TÜBİTAK and the Research and Development Agency of the Republic of Moldova (NARD) and called MODELGAGAUZ for short, which will be carried out between 2025-2027, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Sibel Bayraktar, faculty member of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Department of New Turkish Language, and Ayça İşbilen, PhD student at the Department of Balkan Studies, Institute of Social Sciences, Trakya University, are taking part as researchers.

The project, whose broad name is “A Socio-Cultural Model Trial to Prevent the Loss of the Gagauz Language and Culture: Transforming Healthy Bilingualism into an Advantage for the Gagauz People”, includes Istanbul Maltepe University, Comrat University of Moldova and Trakya University.

MODELGAGAUZ aims to develop a socio-cultural application model specific to the Gagauz language and culture with an innovative and interdisciplinary approach for the preservation and development of the Gagauz language and culture.
